L. Ron Hubbard wrote for Columbia Pictures during the late 1930s. Most notable is The Secret of Treasure Island with was originally intended to be serialized in Argosy as each movie serial came out. This never occurred. It is also stated in Master Storyteller by William J. Widder that, "...Hubbard collaborated with Norvell Page - creator of the pulp fiction hero "The Spider" - on Warner Bros.' The Spider Returns and on Columbia's The Adventures of the Mysterious Pilot and The Great Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok".
